Welcome!

Hi!

Welcome to my New Blog!

I dabble in many of the Creative Arts! I love to sew and bead, so yu will find some of my Art Quilts and other sewing projects here. I also dress Miniature dolls (5 1/2 inch tall) and Fashion dolls, so they may pop up from time to time.

When not sewing, you can find me covered in glue and paint while I play with Mixed Media Collage and other Paper Arts. My husband and son gave me a Cricut for Christmas and I'm having a great time playing with it!

You will also find bits and pieces of my jewelry making. I do that at night when my leg give out and I am finally stuck in front of the TV!

My other Blog www.Thislittledollhouse.blogspot.com is devoted to my other hobby, all things miniature! That's where you will find my dollhouse and castle building adventures!

I hope you will enjoy following along as I travel through my creative world!

Please feel free to ask questions!

Wheree I've Been annd New Product

know! I have been away for a while! Bur I have a really good excuse!

Mark and I spent the summer endlessly looking for a house to buy that would fit our needs and out budget! We started out looking at these very large gorgeous new homes that anyone would be crazy not to want... But when you are a crafter, well, you know, things are a bit different!!!

We ended up in a 4000sq ft. slightly older home in fantastic condition in a fabulous neighborhood! I swear, the house was built just or us!! It has 3 garages! 2 for parking cars in and i that is heated and cooled and set up already as a shop area! Too cool! My power tools finally have a home! This garage leads to the lower level of the house and straight into a craft room already decked out in wall to wall peg board, built in cabinets and a tiny bathroom with a deep sink for cleaning up messes!! The seller even left Elfa carts and 2 large work tables and chairs! Off this room you move into what is my craft storage room. It is wall to wall shelves to hold all of my overflow fabric (tons of it!) and other misc craft supplies I have been collecting for the past umpteen years!
Down a short hallway is Mark's large Family Room/Man Cave! LOL He has a gas fireplace and big screen TV and is a very happy camper. Off this room is a sunroom which leads to the large yard, and my library! Finally, a room to store my 2000 book!! And that's not counting the gazillion magazines! There is a huge bathroom back here too.
Upstairs is laid out like your typical ranch style house. You come in three front door and there is a large living room ( since we have no need of a living room, this will be a combination office for me and a display room for all of my Miniatures I sell and my castles. Behind that is a very large family room and dining room with a large galley kitchen. The kitchen needs major work! We installed all new black appliances when we moved in, but we sit and debate on colors for the cabinets and walls.

There are 3 large bedrooms and 2 more baths on this floor. I am going to paint all of the Mater Bedroom furniture and add a sitting area. We had planned on having a guest room, but.... I blew out both of my knees during the move, so... We originally planned to use one of the bedrooms as my sewing room so I wasn't constantly going downstairs. It's still a mess even though I have managed to make curtains for the living and dining room. We are using the other bedroom for overflow stuff,, and my tons of jewelry supplies. I am trying to keep the sewing room a "project oriented" room not stuffed with stuff, if you know what I mean!
At the moment, the whole house is painted this ugly light mocha color with dark brown mini blinds! Can you say YUCK! Oh, It's all hardwood floors upstairs and new carpet downstairs. I have started to brighten things up a bit with orange curtains in the dining room and the coolest print red curtains in the family room. We have black furniture, but all of our accent furniture and accessories are painted in bright sunny colors. Think Crayola Crayon set! LOL!! Soon the walls will be painted in shades of yellow and orange with accents of red. Trust me, it only sounds weird!

So... that''s my excuse for being gone so long! Oh! About those knees, I'm looking at double knee surgery in the next 6 weeks or so. Whoopee!

By the way, I found this great new product called Gelli Arts.. I used to make up a lot of gelatin painting plates for painting paper and fabric. But this stuff is permanent! You get the same effect then clean if off and use it again! Too coo! It's not cheap, about $30,00 for the 8x10 size but for me it's worth it's weight in gold! Google Gelli Arts for some cool U Tube videos and blogs using it.

Check out Fave Crafts Contest to win a set of your own!

By the way, it''s the keyboard acting weird , not my bad spelling!!

That's all for now!

Big Changes!

It's been a long time since I have posted because I have been working on so many different things!  You can see what's going on if you read my new introduction!

I have been playing a lot with my new Cricut which my son and Hubby gave me for Christmas! Dangerous hobby!  I have found that there 3 Cricut sites that put on major sales! Plus Ebay! Since Christmas I have bought 27 cartridges and haven't spent more than $27 dollars for any of them! All of the ones on Ebay had free shipping too!  These are not the old retired ones either, some are brand new releases! I bought the 12x24 mats from the Cricut store for $4.95 a 2 pack! You can't beat a sale like that! The needle tops were $2.95 a pack, needless to say, I stocked up!

I have also been doing a lot of fabric dyeing and Art Quilting and playing with my Embellishing machine.  When I get some decent pictures, I will post them!  Actually, I have a lot of things to post now that I have changed the tone and subject of this blog!

I hope you will comeback and follow along with all of my new adventures!

Delilah Noir and Missed Contest Entry!

Hi All!

Well, I tried, but I just couldn't do it! The Fletcher Pattern Contest that is!  I found out about the contest 4 days before the due date and jumped right on it, but.... try as I might, everything that could go wrong, did! LOL!!

I mean everything! I couldn't keep a needle in my hand to save my life! There are more needles on the floor in my workroom then the usual pins! I sewed sleeves on backwards and buttons on upside down! You name it, I screwed it up! I just don't do well under pressure any more!

For those of you who are new to following my Blogs, I have been disabled for the last 7 years after a short illness which robbed me of my cognitive skills and left me in a lot of pain. On a bad day, I can't read and understand simple directions. On a good day,my interpretation is a bit funny! Humor plays a large part of my daily life! But enough about that!

Here is the dress I made for the contest that didn't get entered in time!  The theme was Glamour Goth using a Designs by Jude or Fletcher Pattern Company Pattern.
Here is the Contest Link

I already had this pattern in Ellowyne's size, so some resizing was necessary to fit Delilah Noir.`I took a few liberties in redesigning the pattern! lol!
A few changes I made: floor length, closes in the back, separate skirt and top, top is a jacket, added a simple sleeveless top, omitted belt.

Here she is!
Here she is in just her lace panties, stockings and bustier top.
The top is made of Silk Satin.

Here, I have added a Black, crushed velvet skirt.

The original top of the pattern has been modified into a jacket. The sleeve detail has remained the same. There are to skull buttons on either side of the jacket opening.  She is carrying a bouquet of black silk roses with interspersed crystals.

Outfit is completed by her hat. The hat is made of black silk and decorated with black silk flowers, beads and netting.

A few scenes with Delilah wearing her hat!

Well, there she is! What do you think?
I would really like to know!

My Jewelry and Upcoming Posts!

Hi All, I finally cleared a space on my desk big enough to take some pictures!  I have been selling these pieces and ones like them so quickly locally, I haven't had time to make some to put online! No complaints here! As you can see, they are all in a Black motif which seems to be very popular these days. I don't consider myself a professional in any way and do the jewelry at night to prevent boredom, so I keep my prices really cheap! The most expensive piece is the necklace and that's because of the amount of beads!
This pair of earrings is my favorite! I wear them all of the time and have sold them right out of my ears! These are all black, but I make them in silver, gold, bronze and copper with different jewels.

This Leather Link bracelet fits so nicely around the wrist! I love the little dangle! My son wears a larger more manly version of this bracelet (without the dangle!)

These fun dangles each have 3 different black leaves and a dazzle dangle. To make things a little different, one earring has a black backed crystal and the other has a silver backed crystal! Makes a great conversation starter!

I love this necklace!  The beads range from crystal clear, grey tones and black. The chains are black and brushed silver. No two look exactly the same!
This is a simple little bracelet with crystal and gray tone focal beads with a tiny black key. The small beads are black, silver and clear.

Well... that's it for what I had left! I hope you enjoyed my little Show and Tell!

UPCOMING EVENTS!

I promised that this Blog would have sewing tips and techniques! Well, I have been working on a whole notebook of them to pass along to you!

I am working on a new dress for my Delilah Noir doll and taking copious notes and pictures to pass along all of my little tips on Pattern Layout and Prep, Interfacing, Customization and so much more!

Stay Tuned!

Welcome and New Project!

Welcome to my 3 new followers who came from my other Blog! You will be happy to hear that I can't seem to get Mini's out of my brain! LOL!!
For those of you in the "Mini" community, let me introduce you Agnes Dreary! She is 12" tall and fully articulated and I am in love with her dark looks! I went a little overboard this summer and bought 5 of her (she has different "looks" ) and have plans to dress her in Steampunk, Medieval and Witch Outfits!
Now, for the Mini part! She is young lady, so what does every young lady need? Well... of course in my world, she needs a spooky castle dollhouse!
Yesterday I went out shopping and picked up supplies to start making a 1/48th scale castle! Now, I have never designed anything in this scale before, I have only made 1 castle in this scale and that was in a class. This new castle will look nothing like that one! It will have multiple rooms full of furniture! Of course, I will include all kinds of spooky lighting and creatures!
Doesn't this sound like fun?
Now to get it from the drawing board to 3 dimensions! LOL!!
Now to bore the y Fashion Doll friends, I will be showing the building of the castle on my other Blog, http://www.thislittledollhouse.blogspot.com/. Of course, I will be showing off the castle here when it is finished!
Wish me luck!

Welcome Friends!

I have been planning to start this new Blog for awhile now! I have just started collecting and sewing for my Fashion dolls and the other Blog just wasn't the place to show off them off! I'm still working on my miniatures, dressing and designing patterns for the Heidi Ott dolls, but I have become fascinated with the bigger dolls!

I have to admit... My tastes run towards the dark! I love Agnes Dreary and her sister! I own 8 Agnes dolls and 3 Sister Dreary's! LOL I have also collected a few Tyler dolls and of course I had to buy a few Ellowyne's and my newest dolls are Tiny Kitty's!

What are my plans? My 2 favorite eras are Steampunk (is that an era?) and Medieval so you will be seeing a lot of designs those plus what ever else I come up with!

When I am not sewing, I am making jewelry! My jewelry designs have been selling quite well locally and I would love to get your opinions! I also ake jewelry for the dolls, but this is very new to me and working that tiny is a B IG challenge!

Well... that's it for now! I promise to get some pictures up soon!!
